What a privilege it was to attend the Women of the World Festival at the Royal Festival Hall from 11th to 13th March 2016. What an amazing event! Completely inspiring! I came away with so many ideas and so much inspiration and impetus, that I am finally setting off on my Burger Queen Adventure. Thank you WOW!
So here I present my first Veggie Burger Review, the Falafel Deluxe Burger from Giraffe, South Bank, London (right by the Royal Festival Hall). This is the burger that fuelled me on one of the days of the WOW festival!
First off the chips – could be skinnier, but were hot and crisp, and had good flavour – also a decent amount to complement the burger, but not too many – no leftovers!
The burger bun was crisp, and in good proportion to the filling.
The filling – plenty of crisp salad & good sauce.
Cheese was halloumi, a good choice for a veggie burger (see Bill’s Veggie offering).
Finally, the falafel. This is where the burger loses points. The falafel was in balls. The size of the balls gave the burger height, but when squashed down to eat, they oozed out of the sides. I don’t like falafel in a bread bun, too dry. I ended up picking out the falafel, and finishing the second half with just the halloumi and salad filling.
So overall, I give this burger 7 out of 10.
Have you had a Giraffe Falafel Deluxe Burger? How do you rate it?
